Two Rivers as a church school

1
What is a church school?

As a church school, we are closely aligned with the Church of England Vision for Education. At the heart of this vision is Jesus’s promise of ‘life in all its fullness.’ It is a vision for the common good of the whole school community, one in which all may flourish. It involves:

Educating for wisdom, knowledge and skills: enabling discipline, confidence and delight in seeking wisdom and knowledge, and developing talents in all areas of life.

Educating for hope and aspiration: enabling healing, repair and renewal, coping wisely when things go wrong, opening horizons and guiding people into ways of fulfilling them.

Educating for community and living well together: a core focus on relationships, participation in communities and the qualities of character that enable people to flourish together.

Educating for dignity and respect: the basic principle of respect for the value and preciousness of each person, treating each person as a unique individual of inherent worth.

We are an inclusive school that welcomes all children.

Collective Worship

At Two Rivers, the children participate in a daily act of collective worship. Teaching staff and members of the school/church community lead services every day in the school hall. These usually follow the pattern:

  • Monday: Whole school collective worship: Our Values
  • Tuesday: Whole school collective worship led by a member of the clergy team
  • Wednesday: Whole school collective worship: Spirituality
  • Thursday: Class collective worship: Spirituality
  • Friday: Celebration assembly (where certificates, medals, etc are awarded)

Community and Living Well Together

Two Rivers is at the heart of the community. We are also extremely grateful for the diverse contribution that many members of the community make towards the running of the school and the quality of our pupils' experience.

Mental Wellbeing

We teach the skills to support mental wellbeing throughout our curriculum. We celebrate #HelloYellow and Odd Socks Day annually and enjoy raising money for local charities.
