Ofsted
We welcomed a team of Ofsted inspectors into our school in June 2023 for a two day inspection. We were judged to be an OUTSTANDING school in all areas.
A few highlights from the report:
"Pupils flourish at Two Rivers Church of England Primary School. They describe the school as a welcoming place where everyone is kind and respectful. Staff give pupils the courage and confidence to try new things."
"Leaders and staff have the highest ambitions for every pupil. They have created a curriculum that is designed exceptionally well. Starting in the early years, leaders have carefully considered precisely what pupils need to know and when they need to know it. All pupils, including those with special educational needs achieve extremely well.”

SIAMS inspections
As we are a new school which opened its doors to Reception year children in September 2020, there are no previous statutory inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) reports for reference.
We are looking forward to welcoming the SIAMS inspectors in the future to share what an incredible school we are.

Pupil premium
Pupil premium strategy
Please read the information below which gives details of our pupil premium grant and how we allocate the funding.
Pupil premium allocation
If you are on a very low income and/or you receive qualifying benefits please register your child for free school meals - eligible by benefit (EBB). Although currently all EYFS and key stage 1 pupils can have a free school meal, registration will attract additional funding (pupil premium) for the school which will be used to support your child.
Please call 01225 394317 or apply online for free school meals.
Please make an appointment with Mrs Batchelor if you would like more information. Alternatively there is more information about eligible benefits, and national and local organisations that offer help and support to parents and carers in B&NES, Bristol and South Gloucestershire Councils, please log on to the 1 Big Database.
Impact of pupil premium allocation
We are continually reviewing and reflecting on the progress of our children. This enables us to make provision for those children who are not making the progress we would expect whilst at the same time extending the learning for the children who are making more progress than we would expect. Assessment takes place as part of ongoing class routines and children are unaware that they are being assessed.
Standards are reported to parents as part of our commitment to working in partnership with parents and helping the children move forward in their learning.
Department for Education

PE and Sport Premium Funding
Free school meals
From September 2014, all children between the ages of 4 and 7 are entitled to a free school meal during the school day.
You do not need to register your child as we will presume that all children would like a meal unless you tell us otherwise.
However, if you are in receipt of certain benefits such as Income Support, we are able to access further funding to support your child in school. Please see the leaflet attached on this page to see if you are eligible. Please telephone the school office or call the Free School Meals Helpline number t: 01225 394 317 if you have any questions regarding free school meals.
Your child may continue to bring a packed lunch if you prefer but do take a look at our nutritionally balanced menu, as there may be some meals that they would like to try.
Equalities duties and objectives
Duties
Two Rivers CofE Primary School aims to provide a broad and balanced curriculum that meets the needs of all children and promotes their spiritual, moral, social and cultural development. We are committed to equality and reflecting and valuing diversity.
As defined by the Act, as a public authority we must have due regard to the need to:
- eliminate discrimination, harassment, victimisation and any other conduct that is prohibited under the Act
- advance equality of opportunity between persons who share a relevant protected characteristic and persons who do not share it
- foster good relations between persons who share a relevant protected characteristic and persons who do not share it
As a school, we also have two specific duties to perform in relation to the Equality Act of 2010:
- to publish information which shows we have due regard for inequalities as defined by the Act
- to publish at least one equality objective and report annually on its progress
The Act states that we do not have to report information that may ‘identify’ individuals. Therefore, no staff data is presented here because our staffing numbers are below the threshold of one hundred and thirty.
Objectives
These objectives were identified during the 2022/23 academic year.
- To promote cultural development and understanding through a rich range of experience, both in and beyond the school.
- To ensure that all pupils are given similar opportunities with regards to after-school clubs and activities
- To celebrate differences in relation to the protected characteristics in the Equality Act 2010
- Actively close gaps in attainment and achievement between pupils and all groups of pupils; especially students eligible for free-school meals, students with special educational needs and disabilities and looked after children.
